Buddy grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Princeton with a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2011, where his research focused mainly on electric propulsion. He then decided that it was time to leave that godforsaken state and went to MIT to do some fusion research. After realizing that MIT is in fact the worst place on Earth, he came to Stanford a year later and is finishing up his second year in the ME program. He works for Mark Cutkosky in the BDML on variable stiffness artificial muscle actuators for haptics applications and humanoid robots.
Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Scott went to Princeton to run track and field and get a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. After graduating he spent two years in Singapore teaching mechanical engineering to 17-20 year-olds, as well as traveling around the region whenever possible. Now he's in his second year of an MSME program and hoping to find a job in the near future! He can be contacted at [email protected].
Nik is a 2nd year PhD student at Stanford's Center for Design Research DesignX lab. His interests focus on mechatronics prototpying, product design, and human-robot interaction design. In the past, Nik has built all kinds of mechanical and electrical devices including a miniature steam engine, an automotive data aquisition system, and an interactive prototyping robot.
Arul grew up in Cupertino, CA, and completed a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton. He's now in the first year of a PhD program, working with BDML. His interests include controls, robotics, and mechatronics. Arul enjoys machining/building things, programming, and solving the general problem when a simple solution would have sufficed. Past projects include an RC airplane autopilot, AIs for MIT BattleCode, and automating a small N-scale model railway. He can be contacted at [email protected].
